Psychotherapist

Most therapists use this page to highlight their education, experience, credentials, and any other information they think is relevant to you. I’ll get to that at the end for those who are interested. I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together, not just list the things I’ve done.

First, I want to explain the kind of client I tend to have the most success helping. This way, you can quickly determine whether or not I might be a good fit for you. The clients who are the most successful in therapy with me are ones who come ready to work and understand that I am not going to wave my magic-therapy wand and have their problems disappear. I am not a head-nodding kind of therapist. My goal is to help you begin to see progress as soon as possible. My clients appreciate my straightforward approach, humor, and active participation in their treatment.

It takes hard work, accountability, and ownership of your healing journey. When we start going to the gym, we have to exercise our muscles to strengthen them. It hurts at first and even feels uncomfortable, but you will never see results until you go through the pain and discomfort first. Time to roll up your sleeves and get your emotional health back. You’re the CEO of your healing journey!

A little about my journey and how I got here…

I know from my path to healing and transformation, it was a challenging process. I felt so defeated at times, but I kept getting back up and fought for myself! My growing up years was not the easiest for me, which has given me the capacity to relate to others' adversities. I have experienced both emotional distress and challenging health issues.

After I discovered the root cause of my chronic digestive and immune system ailments, and now that I am going through perimenopause, too, I became passionate about expanding my training in Mental Health from an Integrative Medicine Perspective with a special focus in the life transition of perimenopause/menopause. It took years and multiple doctors before I had real answers. I want to give back and help other women discover the root of their health struggles that may be exacerbating or causing mental health issues. Your storyline will be different. We will not rely on mine, but I want you to know that I have fought my way through, too. I now use my personal experiences, clinical experience, and education as an inspiration to unlock ways to help other women become emotionally healthy as well as physically healthy to find the freedom to live out their true identity. WE DON'T HAVE TO FEEL OWNED BY OUR PAINFUL EXPERIENCES AND LIFE’S CHALLENGES!

As you can see, I integrate the whole woman in the work that I do. For lasting transformation to take place, we must attend to the health in all these areas. Working this way means I won't give you band-aid solutions — I get to the underlying cause(s) of issues to support true healing. Together, you and I will figure out what’s going on. There is no reason you should have to continue feeling this way.

I want to support you in becoming the best version of yourself! You can call or text me at (805) 616-1450 or email me at priscilla@therapybypriscilla.com for a free 30-45-minute in-office /phone consultation.
