Overcoming Disordered Eating and Embracing Body Confidence

Welcome

I am dedicated to helping women who struggle with binge eating, emotional eating, and weight loss achieve a healthier and more balanced relationship with food and their bodies. My Approach combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address the underlying issues and support lasting change.

About Me: I am a dedicated mental health professional pursuing my second Master of Science in Applied Nutrition—the additional degree/education to enhance my work and treatment with clients. With a strong focus on nutritional psychology, I have received specialized training to understand better the complex interplay between food, emotions, and behavior. I promote a lifestyle approach rather than focusing solely on diets and quick fixes. My passion lies in helping individuals break free from the destructive patterns of disordered eating and achieve sustainable weight loss goals. I am passionate about helping individuals break free from the destructive patterns of disordered eating and achieve sustainable weight loss goals.

The Challenges

Many people are caught in a constant tug-of-war with food and weight. The relentless pursuit of an ideal body often leads to a cycle of rigid dieting, followed by episodes of overeating or bingeing. This rollercoaster of emotions can leave individuals feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, and trapped in a negative self-image. It can also lead to the development of eating disorders, relationship problems, anxiety, and depression.

My Approach

I recognize that addressing the underlying psychological and emotional factors is essential for long-term success. Through the use of ACT, I help clients develop mindfulness skills, build self-compassion, and cultivate a healthier body image. By practicing acceptance and committing to valued actions, clients can break free from the destructive patterns that have kept them stuck in the past.

In addition to ACT, I incorporate EMDR, a therapy that focuses on processing and healing traumatic experiences that may have contributed to disordered eating patterns. EMDR helps clients reprocess distressing memories and beliefs, freeing them from the emotional burden that can perpetuate self-destructive behaviors.

My goal is to empower you to develop a healthy and balanced relationship with food, your body, and yourself. I aim to help you break free from the chaos of binge eating and emotional eating, allowing them to reclaim your lives and find joy and fulfillment beyond the numbers on a scale.

If you are ready to embark on a journey towards lasting change and improved well-being, we invite you to reach out and schedule a consultation. Together, we can untangle the complexities of food and weight and guide you toward a healthier, happier life.
